I first heard about PAWS in early 2007, but decided it wasn't an option for me as I already had a young dog, a miniature Golden Retriever X Poodle named Grover. However, we began to notice that Grover was particularly sensitive to me during
hypos, licking my face and lying on my chest when I was low. I then decided to contact PAWS to see if this behaviour could be developed so that Grover would pre-empt the hypos and hopefully become a diabetic alert dog
himself.

As I will be moving interstate at the end of the year on my own, it will give me a sense of security to know that I have a warning device against hypo disaster (even if in canine form!).
