Assistance dogs - Nursery
Name: Bobby
Breed: Poodle

Bobby is a male standard poodle who is undergoing training at our kennel facility, before being placed with his new handler in September.

Bobby is the first standard poodle to be placed with a client, so it will be quite exciting to see how he goes. So far, he has responded very well to the training and he behaves beautifully when he travels and goes into town.

Poodles are well known for their intelligence, energy and trainability and the standard has often shown it’s capabilities in a variety of assistance roles in other countries and programmes. PFD is excited to trail the first placement, following our success training Gabby to full Public Access Accreditation, teaching her a variety of assistance dog tasks and taking her to presentations and conferences as our PR representative.

Bobby’s role as an alert dog will be a vital support for his new handler, not to mention a great companion! He loves his cuddles and praise and is an absolute joy to work with.
