Breeding Programme

Paws for Diabetics Inc is embarking on a breeding programme for our dogs, at Sharon's place in NSW. We are applying for registration with DOGSNSW and are looking into buying a few different breeds to cater to our clients needs. At the moment we are enquiring about whippets and poodles, and may extend to others if the need arises. Donations can be made to support this venture, as the purchase and setting up costs will be high. However, it will mean that we will be able to scent associate the pups from birth and also expand that into a training programme for clients who need a ready-trained, older dog. So there's a lot to do, but with Eryn's help as

Assistant Kennel Master and Dog Trainer, we will be able to offer our clients a much better service.
Keep a look out for our new web page, when our prefix is approved we will develop our page and showcase the dogs. There will be puppy announcements and sales for those we don't need for the programme. All breeding parents will be trained and undergo the Public Access Accreditation, so that we are assured their temperament and abilities are proved. We may even get to show a few, just to expand their exposure and fun.
We are very excited about this new programme, so wish us luck!

Newest Member Waiting on Her Companion

Hello my name is Kaylene Burnell and I've been an Insulin dependent Diabetic now for almost 27 years. Along with having diabetes, I have many other medical complications these include Neuropathy of my feet, Gastric Paresis, Hypo unawareness and I have even had a still born child.

Recent I was accepted as a member for PAWS FOR DIABETICS INC and I was so thrilled. PAWS FOR DIABETICS INC is a non profit organisation that trains Medical Alert Assistance Dogs these little dogs help to detect an impending low blood sugar level and help to avert the danger of a hypo from happening. Having one of these dogs will mean so much to me.  My family I will be able to learn to lead a more independent life.

Diabetes has caused not only stress on me medically but financially. Therefore I am trying hard to fundraise for PFD to aid me in the placement and training of my puppy.

I have already have had a little bit of success but need a little more. If you think you would be able to help me with my fundraising, please contact Paws for Diabetics (www.pfd.org.au) to make a donation no matter how big or small. I have been asked to remind everybody that donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.
