Hello, I’m Oscar. I’m eight months old but I have a very important job as a puppy from Paws for Diabetics. My 12 year old owner Corey has diabetes and I can alert him when he might be in danger of having a hypoglycaemic attack, this happens when his blood sugar gets too low. If I think something is wrong I whimper and cry or lick Corey’s fingers. If Corey isn’t able to treat himself I go and get his mum and dad by barking at them. I go to school with Corey to keep an eye on him and I even raced in their recent school carnival and won my very own ribbon, how cool is that! Corey is my best friend and it’s great that I can help him stay safe.
