The Lions Club of Berowra supports Diabetes
Australia
APR 20, 2006
The
BBQ/Sausage Sizzle held in the car park of Berowra Marketplace on Saturday
raised nearly $350.00 in sales and donations which we will be forwarding to
Diabetes Australia as contribution to their national "Great Australian Bite"
promotion, held every year in April.
We also had a visit from Natalie Martin and Aramis (pictured) who are
helping people with their Diabetic Alert and Therapy dogs. These dogs
increase the independence, safety and mobility of the Diabetic person by
providing them with greater confidence to go out in public on their own
without the need to rely on family and friends to accompany them, putting an
end to the isolation often faced when one is afraid to go out for fear of
having a Hypoglycaemic episode. For more information, visit the PAWS for
Diabetics website at www.pfd.org.au.
